I am beyond excited to kick-off FOOD MEMORIES MONDAY!
I love food memories. And one of the greatest things to me about food blogs, is stumbling onto a great story or a touching memory that has a connection to food. Almost all of us have them. It might be a story about something special our grandmother cooked. Or it could be a restaurant your Dad always took you to.
And if you don’t think you have any food memories, know that you are creating them right now. If you cook, or eat, then right NOW, you are creating food memories for your family. So if you don’t have those stories with a grandma, or your parents, or whoever, chances are you have something that is happening in your home that is creating it’s own food memories for your family.
That’s why I have this blog. It’s a place that I am documenting our family favorite recipes. But it’s also a place that I am sharing stories. Not many of the stories I share are from when I was a child (some, but not many). But they have a connection to our family and I share them so they won’t be forgotten.
Below is a few blog posts I have found and enjoyed because of the food story they tell. Please know that when I choose a blog post with a food memory, I am simply looking for stories that have touched me for whatever reason.
I’m always looking for new ones to share, so if you have a blog post that share a special food memory in your life, please share it in the linky below. You could be my next Food Memories Monday pick!
Donna shares what happened when her Dad decided to make his version of her favorite mushrooms — that Mom usually made.
Anne shares a recipe inspired by a potato salad that was first served in her friend’s garage while building a dollhouse.
Shari shares about missing her mom and how she and her sister recreated one of their mom’s most loved recipes…much to the delight of her family.
