Giveaway! OXO Salad Dressing Shaker

Do you make your own salad dressing?

I’m totally new to it, mostly because I’ve always had this idea that making your own salad dressing was a pain. I see great dressing recipes on lots of blogs, but I never make them.

I was sent an OXO Salad Dressing Shaker to try out and now I am loving making my own salad dressing! It’s frugal and I’m having fun playing with ingredients to get a healthy dressing that my whole family loves. It’s really not that hard to make either.

I’ve been a fan of OXO products for a while…everything I own by OXO has worked great and I’ve been very pleased with the quality, so I expected that I would probably like this salad shaker too and I did.

Here’s my 5 favorite parts about it:

  • I like that I can make & mix dressings right inside of the shaker, then use and store it in the refrigerator.
  • Even if I don’t make my dressing in the shaker, it’s wide opening (after unscrewing the top) is big enough for spooning or pouring in dressings made in a bowl or food processor.
  • I like the little lever on the top because it can be used with one finger, while holding the shaker. Flip it open, flip it closed…easy.
  • I like the rubber grip — again, makes one-handed pouring easy.
  • It’s break-resistant, but I hope to not test that out. In using it, I can tell how durable it feels.

I made a Green Goddess Avocado Dressing for my green OXO Salad Dressing Shaker — doesn’t it look great in it? Of course, you can use it for any dressing you like best.

  1. I just recently started making my own salad dressings (mainly vinaigrettes), and want to experiment with it more. This shaker would be perfect! And if I don’t win, I’ll probably run out to Target and buy one for myself ;)

  2. I just started making dressings for my daughter’s salads since she has so many artificial ingredient sensitivities. I’d love to have some tried and true healthy recipes so she’ll have a variety for her lunch. And this looks like a fun product to make them in! Oh, and I’m painting my kitchen that particular green! :D

  3. I forgot the favorite. We are kind of fond of a lime-mesquite concoction. Wish I had the recipe for that one. ;)

I just found a bacon blue cheese the other day that I love

  6. Thanks for the heads up on the OXO salad dressing shaker. I have always made my own dressings and usually use a plain measuring cup and a whisk. A pampered chef salad dressing container goes unused and if I need more dressing I resort to a Good Seasons bottle smaller and easier to handle for storing my dressing.
I think that someone elses said it, even if I don’t win, I’ll be on the hunt for the OXO shaker.
Have a great day and see you on Pinterest!

  7. I used to just make balsamic vinegar, I loved it, and I stopped. Maybe this would prompt me to make it again!

  8. My current favorite is the traditional Ranch from a packet. I haven’t tried it with fat free mayo, but use skim milk to cut the fat. I found I didn’t like the “gel” consistency of package dressings, so thought I’d try making it from the mix and LOVE it. The package + a cup of milk and a cup of mayo makes a lot of dressing that lasts 3 weeks in the fridge. Currently, I keep it in the bowl I mixed it in and spoon it out. I’ve been thinking about a shaker, which takes up less room in the fridge and makes it easy to keep mixed (just shake!).

    • I’ve looked at the ranch packets, but never actually tried them. Thank you for sharing about them…sounds like they are great option from the bottle dressings. Thanks for entering the OXO Salad Dressing Shaker giveaway, Michele!

  9. I always have mixed oil & vinegar….my fave has to be Olive Garden’s signature dressing! Maybe I could replicate! :)

    • Oh, yes, I really like the Olive Garden dressing too. I noticed that my local Sam’s Club has started selling it, but I haven’t bought it. I bet you could replicate it!

  10. I love making a red wine vinegar/evoo combo. Super simple, but easy and DELISH! Thanks for the giveaway!

There is a local Italian restaurant that makes a delicious fresh tomato dressing. It is one of the best things I have ever eaten. For homemade or store bought – I like all of the red dressings – French, Catalina, Russian.

  23. I love the grip on the OXO bottles. I free form a lot of dressings — unless I need to emulsify…
