I've officially made it through my 5th week of my food photography course. Woohoo!
This week, our homework was to use our food styling skills to photograph three grilled meals, that were finished and plated. We were to use a variety of angles, staging, and lighting methods.
I thought this week would be SO much easier than last weeks shots of the actual grilling in process, but it really wasn't. However, I do find it more satisfying to play with staging and the styling food. I'm really enjoy

I can't say that I paid a whole lot of attention to her show, but I remember thinking that her voice and the things she would say were pretty funny. I've heard a lot about how good kale is for you, but other than making kale chips once or twice, I have no experience with it. I spotted this recipe in the January 2012 issue of Better Homes and Garden and I liked that it included kale. It seemed that with the cheese and pasta (very similar to my own macaroni and cheese recipe), this might be a great way of introducing kale to the kids as part of an actual dinner. The question was: would they like it?

Recently, I was given the opportunity to create a dessert recipe inspired by one of the new Renuzit Tempting Indulgences air freshener cones. Not your typical challenge, right? But that's why I like it! I was sent two of the new Renuzit cones to smell and get inspired by: Crème Brûlée and Chocolate Covered Cherries.
