Here's one of many weird things about me: I don't like ranch dressing, unless it's used as a dip. I can't handle it on a salad. Or even on sandwiches, or other ways I've seen it used. It's not like I would refuse it if I went to your house and you told me that was the only salad dressing you had, but I definitely don't prefer it.
But, for a dip, I think it's fabulous. Right out of the bottle works for me, but you can also get creative with bottled ranch dressing. I've got two ranch dip ideas

Sweet Cherry Peppers Relish
I'm quite the sandwich fanatic. And while I do make them at home, I actually prefer a sandwich that someone else makes for me in a sandwhich shop or deli. Quite often, the sandwich places we go to have a sweet & slightly spicy pepper relish that David and I are always sure to get.
About a week ago, we were planning on grilling some of the Farmer John Smoked Sausages that I had sent to me and I had this relish on my mind. We headed to the grocery store and I looked in the pickle and
Sweet & Spicy Barbecue Sauce
I do use bottled barbecue sauces, but making your own homemade barbecue sauce is soooo easy.
This recipe is for our favorite -- it's sweet, it's spicy...we love it. I like it the best with chicken. It's the sauce I used on my Grilled Butterflied Whole Chicken and even typing about it right now makes me crave it!
Green Goddess Avocado Dressing
When I've seen Green Goddess dressing on the grocery store shelves, I've ignored it. I wasn't sure what was in it and I didn't want to know.
Then, on the Home Cooking Memories Facebook page, Robin of Dinner with Friends, gave me a grilled recipe suggestion. The recipe was for a grilled romaine salad with a Green Goddess Dressing. I've never had grilled romaine salad, but had heard that it was quite good. I peeked at the recipe for the Green Goddess Dressing and saw that the main ingredient

Easy Homemade Pasta Sauce
I've been trying my hand at lots of different tomato pasta sauces. But for now, most are made with various combination of canned tomato products - which works for our family.
I've realized, though, that I keep coming back to one particular pasta sauce recipe time and time again. When I find myself not wanting try something new and to go with what works,
Homemade Enchilada Sauce From Scratch (no cans)
If you love enchiladas like our family does, then you must try making homemade enchilada sauce.
Until recently, I used only canned enchilada sauce. In California, I had several to choose from, but I would usually go with the least expensive one. I do remember finding the El Torito brand of enchilada sauce at the 99¢ Only Store and that was my favorite - and it was cheap. I stocked up on it, but I quickly ran out and could never find it again.
Here in Virginia, I've felt lucky that the local
