Crispy Garlic-Parmesan Chicken

  • 4 oz boneless (approx 4 each, skinless chicken breasts)
  • 1/4 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 oz can Progresso Recipe Starters Creamy Parmesan Basil cooking sauce (18)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2/3 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2/3 cup finely shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning


  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Cover baking sheet with foil; spray with cooking spray.
  2. Place a chicken breast between two pieces of plastic wrap. Gently pound with flat side of meat mallet or rolling pin until about 1/2″ thick. Repeat with remaining chicken breasts.
  3. In shallow dish, mix butter, 3 tablespoons of Progresso Recipe Starters cooking sauce, and garlic powder. In another shallow dish, mix breadcrumbs, cheese, and Italian seasoning. Dip each chicken breast into butter mixture first, then dip into bread crumb mixing to coat. Place on cookie sheet. Spray tops of chicken lightly with cooking spray.
  4. Bake in oven for about 12 to 15 minutes, turning chicken once (center of chicken temperature should be minimum 165 degrees F).
  5. Heat remaining sauce in a saucepan until hot. Serve for dipping or drizzle over top. Sprinkle with additional cheese, if desired.
