Like many people I know, heart disease has personally affected our family. It’s never easy finding out that a loved one has heart disease and it’s even harder if you lose that person, such as a beloved grandparent, in our case. Because of this, I strive to do what I can to take care of my heart — and the hearts of my family.
One of the simplest ways I do this is by enjoying a whole grain breakfast, such as oatmeal. My go-to favorite is Quaker Instant Oatmeal in their Maple & Brown Sugar variety. Most mornings, I don’t have a lot of time to spend on breakfast and this is the best choice for me because I know it’s a heart-healthy and quick too.
During the month of February, Quaker Oats is doing their part to promote American Heart Month, by teaming up with the American Heart Association and Go Red For Women movement. Together, they are sharing an “Epic Hot Breakfast” video message from one of my favorite Top Chef contestants, Fabio Viviani. To go along with the video, there is a Twitter sweepstake that you don’t want to miss!
But before I share the details of the sweepstakes with you, sit back and enjoy the charm and humor of Fabio, who wants all of us to eat right and take care of our hearts:
Now, here’s how to enter Epic Hot Breakfast Twitter sweepstakes:
After watching the video (you can also find it at YouTube.com/Quaker), share the video via Twitter with the hashtag #QuakerLove between February 14 – 28, 2013. Quaker Oats will be randomly awarding one grand prize winner, and a guest, a chance to get away for a few days, enjoy a spa treatment and dine at Siena Tavern in Chicago.
Quaker Oats will also be giving 15 participants (chosen at random) an “Ultimate Hot Breakfast” prize pack complete with Quaker Oats, signed items from Fabio Viviani, and more.
And there is even more! Who wants to hang out with Fabio Viviani on Twitter?
Who knew that American Heart Month could be so fun, huh?
So get tweeting! Share the video and don’t forget the #QuakerLove hashtag. I’d love for one of you to win!
