Ingredients
2 tbsp. canola oil
1 1/2 cups white rice
2 cloves garlic, minced finely
1/3 cup tomato sauce
3 cups water
1/2 tsp. sea salt
1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
Instructions
In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, combine the canola oil, rice, and minced garlic. Saute for 1-2 minutes, until the rice starts to lightly brown. Turn heat to medium-low and add tomato sauce, water, salt, and pepper. Stir and let simmer for 25 minutes, or until there is no liquid in the pan and the rice is fully cooked. Avoid overcooking the rice, as this will result in a mushy consistency.
