A while back, I won a set of martini glasses. I was really hoping to win the iPad, but I guess martini glasses are better than nothing. Everyone thought I would be thrilled to have them because, after all, I’m a food blogger. Except, I didn’t find them inspiring. I’ve never had a martini and the thought of having one didn’t appeal to me.
I tucked them away in a closet over a year ago and didn’t think about them again. Well, until some Kahlúa® Pumpkin Spice Liqueur came into my life. That’s all it took to get me thinking of all sorts of cocktail possibilities. And since there is no sense having a box of martini glasses and not using them — they were first on my list for some new drink recipes.

Cooking Equipment Needed for Kahlúa Pumpkin Spice Martini:
Before I played mixologist, David and I sampled the Kahlúa Pumpkin Spice and it didn’t disappoint. He’s has always been a Kahlúa fan — he loves the rum & coffee liqueur since rum is his all-time favorite spirit – and he’s never been one to turn down a drink with it.
As for me, I’m new to Kahlúa, but not new to pumpkin spice. I’m one of those people that go pumpkin crazy in the fall. Living in Vegas, we don’t have a traditional Autumn like many of you do, but pumpkin spice is one of the small ways I get a feeling of fall — even if it’s still 80 degrees outside. When I start seeing pumpkin product on the store shelves, I get excited and vow to enjoy as much of it as possible before it’s gone. Needless to say, add pumpkin spice to something and I’ll be your friend.
Ok, let’s get our fall on and make a Kahlúa Pumpkin Spice Martini!
For the rim of the martini glasses, you only need a small amount of Kahlúa Pumpkin Spice on a plate. Turn your glass upside down and dip the edge in the Kahlúa. Then, dip (and twist, if you wish) in a mixture of granulated sugar and pumpkin pie spice seasoning. Run, right? I love sugar (or salt) rimmed glassware – to me it’s almost not worth having a cocktail if it doesn’t have a rimmed glass. {I said almost…let’s not get crazy now}
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, you will add the Kahlúa Pumpkin Spice, spiced rum, and half and half.
You will also add a bit of pumpkin puree and then cover and shake until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
The mixture is strained and poured directly into the prepared martini glasses.
If you wish, garnish with a cinnamon stick and/or a sprinkle of pumpkin spice seasoning.
