Anyone familiar with Sizzler restaurants? It's was one of our favorite restaurants when we were dating and the early years of our marriage. We haven't lived near one in quite a while, but we had a chance to eat at one during our move to Las Vegas -- we stopped at their location in Flagstaff, AZ.

Chicken Pot Pie
Chicken pot pie is one of my top favorite comfort foods. In the early years of our marriage, there was no way I would have made it homemade. Seemed so complicated. We did have it at home, but it was almost always a frozen variety. I ordered it in restaurants too. I remember choosing it during our 3rd wedding anniversary date night to Marie Callendar's restaurant.
I've come a long ways from that time and I think my family is quite happy that I have. If I say we are having chicken pot pie for
Parmesan Crusted Chicken
It's been getting less frequent for our entire family -- including our two adult children -- to be home for dinner. It does happen about once or twice a week, but most of the time David and I and the younger two kids will eat together, with the older two will eat separately at a later time. I do miss all of us eating together on a daily basis, but with work schedules being so varied, it's hard for it to always work out.
This week, we had one of those nights when we would all be together and
Chicken & Artichoke Pasta with Mushrooms
I love creamy pasta dishes. Seriously, what's not to like about them? Well, okay, the calories and fat content? I would agree. But that's why we don't eat them daily. We have it in moderation and enjoy them when we do. Good stuff.
One of the newer favorites in our house is this pasta dish that I call Chicken & Artichoke Pasta with Mushrooms. Not a fancy sounding name, but it does the trick. The family raves about it - even those that say that they don't like mushrooms or artichokes (two
Rosemary Garlic Chicken Breasts with Parmesan Linguine
My oldest daughter has to wake up for work VERY early. I am usually still awake when she gets up for work. We also tend to eat dinner much later than your average family, so many nights, she is in the routine of going to bed before dinner is ever done. When she wakes in the morning, she eats the dinner for her breakfast. It's a switched around way of living, but it's working for her (and us) at this point.
Herb Roasted Chicken and Gravy
Herb Roasted Chicken with Gravy is wonderful for a Sunday night dinner, or for a smaller Thanksgiving dinner.
You know how sometimes a recipe will tell you that you can use your choice of broth, stock, wine, or water for the liquid it needs? Prior to about two years ago, if a recipe gave me the option, chances are I would have chosen the water. Water is cheap and I wanted to spend the least amount possible on our groceries. And, yes...I know homemade stock is inexpensive to make too, but
Chipotle Peach Chicken
I know it's getting late in peach season (or perhaps even over for those in the US East coast), but I couldn't let the Summer officially end without sharing one of my favorite peach recipes: Chipotle Peach Chicken.
True be told, I'm not a big fan of peaches. I can eat them, but you will very rarely see me eating a fresh peach. I know lots of you *LOVE*LOVE* them, but, me? eh...not so much. But when I came across a version of this recipe in a Summer 2009 issue of a Weight Watcher recipe book

BBQ Chicken Quesadillas – Easy Family Recipe
Last night we had a repeat of a dinner that I came up with several months ago. After the summer had ended last year, we had a pretty good amount of bottled barbecue sauce in our pantry. You know how it goes on sale a lot during the summer? Well, we went a bit overboard.
I started brainstorming for meal ideas that we could use all this barbecue sauce in - and that's when BBQ Chicken Quesadillas were created. While we eat them for dinner, they are great for lunch too. They would also be the
