This Cranberry Mojito Recipe is a festive Christmas cocktail made with a few simple ingredients, such as rum, cranberry juice, and fresh mint. It’s a sweet, tart, and perfectly refreshing for holiday parties or small get-togethers. The red and green colors are especially festive too!

I gotta tell you: I absolutely LOVE cranberries! I love baked treats with cranberries, cranberry jello shots, and my homemade cranberry sauce is one of my treasured holiday side dishes!

Drinks made with cranberries are always one of my favorites too. While I enjoy a glass of simple cranberry juice from time to time, I’m an even bigger fan of cocktails made with cranberry juice or mocktails and punch made without alcohol.

Considering that mojitos are one of my go-to cocktails, it’s only natural that I would end loving the pairing cranberries with the classic mojito. And with that, today I am sharing a sweet and tart Cranberry Mojito recipe – a festive Christmas cocktail to serve during the holidays!

What Type of Glass for Mojitos?

The first thing you’ll need to consider for your Cranberry Mojito cocktails is the type of glass you’ll use. I recommend that you make it in a highball glass. It’s a taller, somewhat slender glass, like what we see in our photos. The ounces in a highball glass can vary, but for our recipe, we recommend one that holds at least 15 ounces.

If you don’t have highball glasses — and don’t want to buy any — no worries! You can still use pretty much any glass you have on hand. Once your glasses, you’re ready to get started!

Cranberry Mojito Drink Ingredients

Note: See the bottom of this post for the full printable recipe card with measurements & instructions.

For this Christmas cocktail recipe, you’ll need: lime, mint leaves, rum, sweet and sour mix, cranberry juice, lemon-lime soda (such as Sprite or 7Up), and ice.

If desired, you can also add some additional garnishes to your Christmas cocktail. You add lime wedges, cranberries (frozen preferred), and/or a mint sprig. They really make this drink look extra special and all the red and green colors look especially festive.

How to Make a Cranberry Mojito

Begin by slicing your lime into slices. Each drink will need 3 slices, so if you are making 2 drinks, like our recipe, you’ll want to get at least 6 slices out of that one lime, which should be easy to do. You’ll probably be able to get more than 6 slices out of your lime, so you’ll be able to make even more drinks.

For the next step, you’ll need a muddler. A muddler is a tool used by bartenders and anyone making cocktails to “muddle” ingredients together. Usually, it involves fruit, herbs, and/or sugar, where the ingredients are pressed or crushed together. Generally, this is done directly in the glass that the cocktail will be served in.

When you muddle ingredients together, it helps to release the flavors, resulting in a more flavorful drink. For this Christmas cocktail recipe, you’ll be muddling together a lime slice with the mint leaves.

If you don’t have a muddler, you can also use the top part of a wooden spoon handle. We own a couple but as you’ll in our photos, a wooden handle can work just fine. However, if you like to make cocktails at home, we would recommend purchasing a good quality muddler.

Grab your glasses and add 4-5 fresh mint leaves and one lime slice in the bottom of each glass. With your muddler (or wooden spoon handle), press the lime and mint against the bottom of the glass to release the lime and mint flavors.

Now it’s time for the good stuff! Pour the rum, sweet and sour mix, and cranberry juice into each glass, directly over the muddled lime and mint. Give it a stir to combine all of the ingredients.

Finish off your Cranberry Mojito Cocktail by adding 2 more lime slices into each glass and add ice. Top off the glass with lemon-lime soda.
