Sweet and spicy foods have to be one of the best flavor combinations. But, most of my experiences with the “sweet and spicy” side of foods is with a fruit salsa, some barbecue sauce or perhaps some flavored pretzels or nuts. Until trying these Pineapple Chipotle Popsicles, I don’t think I had ever had a frozen dessert that had include a spicy ingredient, like peppers.
If a sweet & spicy frozen dessert is new to you too, trust me when I tell you that you should try this Pineapple Chipotle Popsicles recipe. I found the original recipe in Weight Watchers magazine and had to try it right away (I made a couple small tweaks to it). It’s perfect for you if you love pineapple, smoky chipotle peppers, and easy frozen desserts that are low in fat and calories (less than 75 calories per pop and no fat).
This frozen pop recipe only needs a few ingredients: frozen pineapple, just a bit of minced chipotle peppers, lemon juice, honey, and a pinch of salt. A few of the pineapple chunks are reserved and chopped (added separately to the pop molds), but the rest of the ingredients are mixed up in your food processor or blender.
After mixing, you’ll fill your favorite popsicle mold with the Pineapple-Chipotle Popsicle mixture.
I absolutely love the frozen pop mold that I bought on Amazon. I really like that I can use wooden popsicle sticks with it (rather than plastic ones) and I love the shape and design of the pops. You can check it out by clicking here: Norpro Ice Pop Maker
Freeze in your freezer until frozen (I find at least 4-6 hours to best) and then enjoy the sweet & spicy goodness!
