Cooking Equipment Needed for Red Velvet Waffles:
How To Make Red Velvet Waffles
The homemade waffle recipe is easy to make too. First, mix up the dry ingredients in one bowl and then mix up the wet ingredients in another bowl.
A bit of advice when it comes to the red food color: we recommend using a good quality red gel food color. You’ll also want to add the red food coloring to the waffle batter until it is slightly darker than the shade you want. After your Red Velvet Waffles cook on your waffle iron, the red color will lighten a little.
You can make these in any waffle iron that you might own. When it comes to actually cooking your waffles, just follow your manufacturer’s instructions.

Red Velvet Waffle Topping
While you can totally top these waffles with syrup, we recommend topping with whipped cream or even better — use a cream cheese drizzle.
To make a cream cheese drizzle for your Red Velvet Waffles, just beat together 1/2 cup of room temperature cream cheese (1/2 block), 1/2 cup of powdered sugar, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Then, add a few tablespoons of milk, adding them a tablespoon at a time until you get a drizzle-like consistency that you prefer.

Description
Make a special breakfast with this homemade Red Velvet Waffle recipe! Perfect for Valentine’s Day, Christmas Day, or for anyone who loves Red Velvet Cake.
Ingredients
2 cups flour
3 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
4 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 3/4 cup buttermilk
1/3 cup butter, melted and cooled
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon vinegar
Red food coloring (we recommend gel food color)
Instructions
Grease waffle iron and begin preheating according to manufacturer instructions.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
In a separate bowl, beat together the eggs, buttermilk, butter, vanilla, and vinegar with a whisk until thoroughly combined. Add red food coloring until it is slightly darker than the shade you want since it will lighten a little while it cooks.
Add the wet mixture to the dry mixture and fold to combine thoroughly. Cook waffles according to your waffle iron instructions and size. In most cases, they should be done when they stop steaming. Serve with whipped cream or a cream cheese frosting.

The 2x and 3x buttons don’t work on the recipe. I had issues because I didn’t realize this at first. However, so very tasty! My kids loved it!
