My most favorite celebrity chef of all time is Rick Bayless. His cooking is a celebration of my favorite cuisine — Mexican — and I’ve made many of his recipes for my family and we always enjoy them. Every Christmas, I swear by his Basic Tamal Dough recipe for our tamales, and some of our tamales always get his Pork in Red Chile filling for tamales recipe. And with watching him on his own TV show, in interviews, or on shows like Top Chef Masters, I’ve always enjoyed how entertaining he is — full of great stories, and well, he seems like a really nice guy.
With living in Las Vegas, I have always enjoyed that I have access to so many celebrity chef restaurants. But, unfortunately, Rick Bayless is one that hasn’t come to Vegas. It is on my bucket list is to travel to Chicago and eat in one of his award-winning restaurants, but to have his Mexican fare right in here in Las Vegas? That would be amazing.
I’m not sure if it will ever happen, but I have something to share that might be the next best thing. If you’re Rick Bayless fan and will be in Las Vegas on September 9th, you’re in for a wonderful treat.
