This evening, we took a trip over to my favorite thrift store. We went looking for gardening tools (shovel, Hula hoe, etc) and rugs. They didn’t have what we were hoping to find, but no worries, I didn’t leave empty handed. I found this weird plaque. It’s wood on the base and someone got crafty with it by doing some distressing to the edges. The top of it is thick metal with the words “recipes” cut out of it near the bottom of the metal. This piece is screwed into the wood base.
It caught my eye, so I grabbed it up, and seeing that it was only 50¢, it wasn’t hard for me to decide to buy it. I’m not sure what I will do with it. It needs a bit of clean up, but I think I can turn it into something pretty cool. Maybe a magnetic recipe card holder? Maybe just kitchen decor with a name added? Maybe I’ll give it a makeover with some spray paint? What are your thoughts?
Oh, and I want to wish my friend, Marnie, a very happy birthday!

I would have bought it, too! My vote is for just a clean-up. No spray paint. I like it the way it is!

This is cool Brandie! I like the metal. I'd definitely try to clean it and the idea to use it as a magnetic board is cool. Great find!
