As promised, I’m back with a weight loss update, including my thoughts on my one month trial with Mangodrin weight loss supplement.

In my last post, Weight Loss, Shame…and Starting Over, I shared a bit about the history of my weight gain, weight loss, and then weight gain again. I also shared my current weight, which was 351.2 lbs.
I had come to a point where it was vital for me to do something about my weight, and while I had been working (slowly) on it, I had realized it was time to start making bigger moves towards a healthier me.
Knowing that I was going to have a big trip coming up to South Carolina in the 3rd week in May, I thought it would be a good idea to get a jump start on my weight loss by trying out Mangodrin, a weight loss supplement. I committed to 1 month of the Mangodrin to see how it worked for me and now I’m ready to share my thoughts and results.
Here’s a breakdown of my weight for the month of May:
- May 1: 351.2 lbs
- May 7: 348.6 lbs
- May 15: 348 lbs
- May 25: 353.6 lbs
- May 31: 348.6 lbs
Obviously, a lot of fluctuation.
Between May 15 and May 25 weigh-in’s, we were in South Carolina and I really didn’t watch what I ate. As you can see, my weight went right back up and over the starting weight.
After returning from South Carolina, David and I made the decision to join Weight Watchers again. , which is why you see see the loss leading up to May 31. Even though it included Memorial Day weekend which include a barbecue with lots of yummy food. I do much better when I am tracking my food and found Weight Watchers to work before, so I’m excited to commit to it again.
As for the Mangodrin, here’s my main thoughts:
1. It’s not for me. That doesn’t mean it’s not for other people, but I think someone in my position that is very obese and having other issues with food, it’s not the right choice. I can see it benefiting others though…particularly if someone wants to lose a smaller amount of weight to fit into that perfect summer bikini or their dream wedding gown.
2. Mangodrin very noticeably cut my appetite, especially in the first week or so. I work late at night a lot, with the whole house quiet and everyone asleep. During this time, I would usually feel “hungry”, but when taking the Mangodrin, I didn’t notice myself thinking about food at all during my late night working. I feel this lessened a bit for me though as the month went on. I do have to mention that taking the directed amount is a BIG key. On the days I forgot and missed my 2nd dose, I noticed an increase in hunger.
I am thankful to truderma (the makers of Mangodrin) for allowing me to take the 1 month weight loss challenge. Even though I determined it wasn’t for me, this challenge really did something wonderful for me and that was pushing me to share my weight here on my blog and motivating me to take bigger moves toward a healthier me. I plan to keep posting regularly about my weight loss and without this challenge, I probably wouldn’t have gotten started in doing that.
Stay tuned to more updates about my weight loss!

I love your honesty! Losing weight is the hardest thing I have ever tried to do. I have “other issues with food” too! It is so weird how we all eat when we are happy, sad, celebrating, devastated, irritated, bored, the list can go on and on.
Can’t wait to see your weight loss journey!

What a great post Brandie! I really admire the fact that you at least tried the 30 day challenge and 3 pounds is still something! And I wouldn’t watch what I ate when on vacation either 😉 I like to have fun and eat whatever I want!
