I remember the first time I heard about a school having a salad bar. I was like "WHAT??" and then thought "why couldn't we have that when I was in school!". Did any of you have salad bars in your schools? Do your children have them now? We've been homeschooling for a long time, but our three oldest children did attend public school for the elementary years and they didn't have a salad bar. Knowing how my kids eat salad, they would have LOVED it.
That's why when I heard about the Whole Foods

Wente Vineyards…and Wines
As someone who loves food memories, it's exciting to have the chance to meet a fifth generation winegrower, Karl Wente of Wente Vineyards, and hear the history of his family's vineyard.
Recently, I was invited to breakfast to do exactly that. I had the opportunity to meet one-on-one with Karl Wente of Wente Vineyards, which is the country’s oldest, continuously operated family-owned winery.
I met Karl at Verandah, inside the beautiful Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas. We sat in

Vegas Beauty Event: iBlowdry
I'm aware I might be the last woman on earth to know what a "blowout" is, but I had one done for the first time and I wrote up a post to share all the fun details. You can see my hair (it's quite sexy...you know you want to see it) and learn all about iBlowdry -- a new hair salon in Las Vegas -- over at VegasBloggers.net:

Celebrating with ‘Chopped’ Winner, Christina Olivarez
There is so many fun events around Las Vegas, and this is no exception. Recently, I was invited to a special viewing party at Diego Mexican Cuisine in the MGM Grand. The reason for this viewing party was for us to watch the television debut of Diego's Executive Chef, Christina Olivarez, on Chopped on Food Network. How cool is that? I'm a major fangirl for Food Network and Chopped is one of the shows I watch regularly.

In Love with The Container Store – Las Vegas
Last month, I was invited to a special sneak peek of The Container Store opening in Las Vegas before it opened to the public. It was a fun event that had me thinking about all the different problem areas in my home and how The Container Store can help me. I'm excited to share photos of all the amazingness that The Container Store has to offer!
The Container Store Las Vegas – Opening Saturday!
In 2009, I wrote:
"I’m a bit obsessed with organizing. I love containers that hold things. A friend told me about “The Container Store”. I had never heard of such a place, but I imagine it would be quite heavenly."
The only problem was that, in 2009, there was no Container Store's close to me in my small town in Virginia. And a move to Las Vegas didn't help that either....until now!
On Saturday, May 12, 2012, The Container Store is opening in Las Vegas! I'm so excited I can hardly
Las Vegas Restaurant: Fatburger on the Strip
Last week, our family we took a drive down to the Las Vegas Strip. Our destination: Fatburger -- a burger restaurant that is located a bit north of the MGM Grand on Las Vegas Blvd. Our kids love it when we try new places, and that fact that it was on the Strip makes it even cooler.
Our plan was for my husband and I, and our adult daughter, to do something that we've never done --participate in an eating challenge. At Fatburger, they have what they call the Fatburger XXXL Challenge. It means
