The best thing ever: strawberry banana “ice cream”, made with just 2 ingredients. It’s all-natural, super healthy, and only takes a few minutes to make.
Disclosure: I received a Bestowed box to review & was provided with one for this giveaway
Strawberries are super cheap at our grocery store lately ($1.50 for 2 lbs), so we’ve been buying LOTS of them. We freeze them and use them in smoothies almost every day.
The other night, I was craving ice cream and we didn’t have any. Then, I remembered seeing lots of idea on Pinterest where people were blending up frozen banana and making “ice cream” with them. I had two frozen bananas in our freezer — so I decided to give it a try, but decided that strawberry banana flavor would be even better.
Blending up just two ingredients: frozen bananas and frozen strawberries created this amazing “ice cream”. What’s not to like about all-natural fruit, no added sugars, no fat, and low in calories…blended up into a frozen treat? It made me very happy.

Description
The best thing ever: strawberry banana “ice cream”, made with just 2 ingredients. It’s all-natural, super healthy, and only takes a few minutes to make.
Ingredients
- 2 bananas (peeled & sliced)
- 1 cup hulled & quartered strawberries
- Optional: Granola
Instructions
- Spray a plate or baking sheet lightly with cooking spray. Place bananas on one side of the baking sheet or place the strawberries to the other side. Set in freezer until frozen.
- In a food processor, blend the frozen bananas until smooth and creamy. Add strawberries to blended bananas and process just until incorporated into to the banana.
- Serve immediately, or place in a freezer safe container and place in freezer until firm. If serving after freezing, remove from freezer 5-10 minutes before serving to allow ice cream to softened. Top with granola, if desired.
Notes
–If you have unpeeled bananas that are overripe, don’t throw them away. Toss them into the freezer to save until ready for use. To use in Strawberry Banana Ice Cream, remove frozen bananas from the freezer, peel, and slice and use in recipe.
–If you want to add a touch of sweetness, add a packet of Nektar Honey Crystals or 1 teaspoon honey

- Cuisine: American
You may think my happiness ends there. But it continues when I decided to sprinkle Kind Healthy Grains Oats & Honey Clusters on top. I love crunchy toppings on things like yogurt, fruit, or ice cream, so this was a perfect match. I received the clusters in a Bestowed Box that was sent to me to try out.
I wasn’t familiar with Bestowed until they sent me their April subscription box to try out. Each month, nutrition Heather Bauer and her team carefully select 5 healthy product samples. Thing like nutrition bars, snacks, breakfast cereals, and supplements (and more). These samples are sent out in a bright orange box to all those who subscribe. It’s like getting a Christmas present in the mail every month!
With all the healthy changes I’ve been making, I was really excited with what came in the April box.
A few of the items were things I would probably buy on my own if I saw them in a store, like the Kind Healthy Grains or the Gnu Foods Hi-Fiber Minis (the kids love these). But I might not have paid attention to some of the others if it wasn’t for this box. Like, Nektar Honey Crystals. These are so great for taking on-the-go for sweetening my tea.
Another item I was pleasantly surprised with was the Manitoba Hemp Hearts. I didn’t even know that something called “hemp hearts” existed until getting them in this box. But that’s what makes the box fun…trying new stuff that might just become a new favorite. My box also contained EBOOST, Oloves Hot Chilli Mama Olives, and a $25 gift card to iTrain.
