It was many years ago, probably 15 years or so, that I was talking to my husband about food photography. I was looking at a Mexican food take-out menu and I thought the photos of the dishes looked unappetizing.
I told him that this was the reason why I would NEVER take food photos. I told him that food was hard to photograph and I would never want someone to think my food was gross, just by the horrible photo I took.

My Movie Dilemma: What Would You Do?
Seeing a movie in a movie theater has become a rare event for my husband and I.
It didn't always used to be that way.
As a kid, went to the drive-in all the time. As I became a teenager, I started going to the movies more and more. In the early years of our marriage, David worked at a movie theater and we got unlimited free movies. Even after he stopped working there, we would go fairly often.
But in the last several years, our movie theater trips have dwindled.

My husband's favorite summer salad is Spaghetti Salad. I usually forget about this salad as our usual summer salad go-to's are macaroni salad and potato salad, but when I was planning our big Father's Day BBQ, I was sure to put this on the menu for him and he loved me extra that day because of it.

In Memory of My Sister, Brittany
On June 1, 2012, my 28-year-old sister, Brittany, lost her battle with Batten Disease.
Brittany was a beautiful girl who was happy and loved to smile. She loved music and movies. Her favorite movies were animated ones -- pretty much anything Disney or Pixar, and one of her most recent favorites was Happy Feet. She loved other movies like Jumanji and Mrs. Doubtfire. She loved the outdoors. She loved Mexican food and pizza. She loved Barbies and jewelry.
Rocky Road Cereal Treats
My second favorite flavor of ice cream is rocky road. I don't like marshmallow creme in it though - it has to be real pieces of marshmallows.
I call this candy Rocky Road Cereal Treats because it has those same rocky road ice cream ingredients: chocolate, marshmallows, and nuts. It also includes cereal in it, which in my case, I used Cheerios®.

We did something recently with our kids that I just know will be a awesome memory that they will always remember. It was different. It was new. It was something they didn't expect.
