I love challenges -- especially food challenges -- and I love to great creative with food.
Recently, I was given the opportunity to create a dessert recipe inspired by one of the new Renuzit Tempting Indulgences air freshener cones. Not your typical challenge, right? But that's why I like it! I was sent two of the new Renuzit cones to smell and get inspired by: Crème Brûlée and Chocolate Covered Cherries.

Strawberry Frozen Yogurt Parfaits with Smarties Candy Whipped Cream
I can't believe summer officially started this week -- I feel like it's been summer forever in Las Vegas.
In an effort to cool us off, and enjoy one of the evenings when ALL of my kids are home, I planned to make a tropical dessert to go along with our weekly pizza night. Both of the oldest kids would be home and I thought it would be fun to have a little treat that would be super easy to pull together and celebrate the flavors of summer. We headed to Walmart to pick up "take and bake" pizza,
Rocky Road Cereal Treats
My second favorite flavor of ice cream is rocky road. I don't like marshmallow creme in it though - it has to be real pieces of marshmallows.
I call this candy Rocky Road Cereal Treats because it has those same rocky road ice cream ingredients: chocolate, marshmallows, and nuts. It also includes cereal in it, which in my case, I used Cheerios®.
Breakfast Ice Cream Party with Brownie Waffles
When was the last time you had spontaneous fun with your kids and did something against the so-called "rules"?
We did something recently with our kids that I just know will be a awesome memory that they will always remember. It was different. It was new. It was something they didn't expect.
When our kids woke up this weekend, they were surprised to find out that we were having a Breakfast Ice Cream Party -- complete with brownie waffles and bacon waffles!
Peanut Butter Pretzel Cheesecake Squares
When my husband and I were kids, we watched The Three Stooges occasionally, but our kids had never heard of them. Mattie has seen the preview for the new Three Stooges movie and mentioned that he'd like to see it, especially since it stars Sean Hayes (from Will & Grace -- and Mattie has seen most of the old episodes with his sister). Many times I tell him to wait for a movie to come out on DVD. But he was in luck for The Three Stooges Movie: Smart and Final is offering a great deal....a
Chocolate Hazelnut Coconut Bars
Can you imagine winning $1 million dollars for a recipe? As a home cook -- that likes to think-outside-the-box with ingredients -- I've often considered entering recipe contests. But...never have. One million dollars? You would think that would be the right motivation to give it a try!
Last week, the $1 million grand prize winner of the Pillsbury Bake-Off was announced. The winning recipe was a Pumpkin Ravioli with Salted Caramel and Whipped Cream. It sounds and looks delicious -- I've
Coffee Cheesecake Sopapillas
My niece makes a yummy dessert that she calls cheesecake sopapillas. She uses crescent rolls and cream cheese and an assortment of other ingredients. She's really good at making it and it's a treat that our whole family enjoys.
When she makes them, my husband and I like to have a cup of coffee with them. I was recently invited to try out Smart & Final's Ambiance line of coffee products, and I thought this would be a great time to try my own version of Courtney's sopapillas. With her
Chocolate Chip Cookies (Weighing Ingredients for Baking)
I've been quite interested in the method of weighing ingredients for baking...rather than measuring with cups. Every time I stumble onto an article about why it's better to weigh your ingredients, I always stop and devour the information. It makes perfect sense to me. If you tell two people to give you 1 cup of flour, and then you weigh their flour, you would most likely find a big difference in the amounts. Being precise in baking is important and if you use too much, or too little, of an

My niece, Courtney, adores little things. She loves little forks and little spoons, mini erasers, and tiny kittens. Just about anything that is smaller than "normal" size. Food in miniature is especially
Apple-Cinnamon Coffeecake
This Apple-Cinnamon Coffeecake is a lighter version of traditional coffeecakes, full of apple and cinnamon. A perfect baked treat for a beautiful Autumn day.
David LOVES baked goods with his coffee. He enjoys coffeecakes, muffins, biscotti, donuts...pretty much anything that pairs well with coffee. Since I know this is the way to his heart, I decided to surprise him with something one weekend. Knowing his love of cinnamon, I thought an Apple-Cinnamon Coffeecake would be a perfect choice.
