For Thanksgiving this year, I wanted to make a table decoration that incorporated family photos since there was so many family members that we wouldn't be able celebrate with this year. A photo cube seemed like a perfect way to dress up our table, while also remembering our loved ones near and far. I decided to fancy it up even further by making it a candle holder.

Ways to Preserve Thanksgiving Memories
In 2010, I was just starting to get more serious about food blogging and I had all these grand ideas of making a perfect turkey and side dishes and photographing it all to share. But as the day progressed, reality set in. I was so exhausted from the festivities and all the cooking that I got to a point that I didn't care if my photos were stunning.

My niece, Courtney, adores little things. She loves little forks and little spoons, mini erasers, and tiny kittens. Just about anything that is smaller than "normal" size. Food in miniature is especially
Chicken Pot Pie
Chicken pot pie is one of my top favorite comfort foods. In the early years of our marriage, there was no way I would have made it homemade. Seemed so complicated. We did have it at home, but it was almost always a frozen variety. I ordered it in restaurants too. I remember choosing it during our 3rd wedding anniversary date night to Marie Callendar's restaurant.
I've come a long ways from that time and I think my family is quite happy that I have. If I say we are having chicken pot pie for
Gilcrease Orchard – U-Pick Farm in Las Vegas
When you think of U-Pick Farms, you probably don't think of Las Vegas. I know...I didn't think Las Vegas either. Before we moved here, I was checking out farmer's markets and CSA's in Vegas and I stumbled upon the Gilcrease Orchard -- a non-profit, pick-your-own farm.
I've been wanting to visit the orchard ever since we moved to Vegas, but their hours never seemed to match up well with our own schedules. But, in October, they have extended hours due to how many families visit their pumpkin
Parmesan Crusted Chicken
It's been getting less frequent for our entire family -- including our two adult children -- to be home for dinner. It does happen about once or twice a week, but most of the time David and I and the younger two kids will eat together, with the older two will eat separately at a later time. I do miss all of us eating together on a daily basis, but with work schedules being so varied, it's hard for it to always work out.
This week, we had one of those nights when we would all be together and

Apple-Cinnamon Coffeecake
This Apple-Cinnamon Coffeecake is a lighter version of traditional coffeecakes, full of apple and cinnamon. A perfect baked treat for a beautiful Autumn day.
David LOVES baked goods with his coffee. He enjoys coffeecakes, muffins, biscotti, donuts...pretty much anything that pairs well with coffee. Since I know this is the way to his heart, I decided to surprise him with something one weekend. Knowing his love of cinnamon, I thought an Apple-Cinnamon Coffeecake would be a perfect choice.
