Celebrating with ‘Chopped’ Winner, Christina Olivarez
There is so many fun events around Las Vegas, and this is no exception. Recently, I was invited to a special viewing party at Diego Mexican Cuisine in the MGM Grand. The reason for this viewing party was for us to watch the television debut of Diego's Executive Chef, Christina Olivarez, on Chopped on Food Network. How cool is that? I'm a major fangirl for Food Network and Chopped is one of the shows I watch regularly.
Las Vegas Restaurant: Fatburger on the Strip
Last week, our family we took a drive down to the Las Vegas Strip. Our destination: Fatburger -- a burger restaurant that is located a bit north of the MGM Grand on Las Vegas Blvd. Our kids love it when we try new places, and that fact that it was on the Strip makes it even cooler.
Our plan was for my husband and I, and our adult daughter, to do something that we've never done --participate in an eating challenge. At Fatburger, they have what they call the Fatburger XXXL Challenge. It means
Our Ultimate Vegas Date Night
Last Friday (May 27, 2011), David got a phone call telling him that he has won a contest he has entered on the Wigibuy Facebook page. The prize? A pair of tickets to see comedian Chelsea Handler live at Ceasars Palace (Las Vegas, of course) the very next day. And as if that wasn't cool enough, it included a stay at Ceasars Palace. I freaked out! Just the day before I was thinking about how badly the two of us needed a date night: no work, no computers, no kids. But this? Never imagined we'd win
Daily Photo: Del Taco Lunch
We took a trip to the park and since I lack the skills of packing park snacks, we were starving after wards. So, we stopped off at Del Taco. I missed Del Taco when we were living back east. David and I each had: 1 Chicken Taco Del Carbon (4 WW Points+), 1 Taco (49¢ small ones - 3 WW Points+), and 1 bean burrito with green sauce (small, 49¢ ones - 8 WW Points+). So, a 15 WW Point+ lunch...kinda big, but considering that I used to order the Chili Cheese Fries which are a 14 WW Point+ value alone,
Visiting Town Square Las Vegas with the Family
We took an outing to Town Square recently - it's one of our favorite places to hang out. It's an outdoor mall in Las Vegas with lots of great shops and restaurants. There is a children's park in the middle where kids can play. During warmer months, there is water play feature at the playground, plus movies in the park. At night, all the trees are lit of white lights and there is music playing from speakers as you walk around.
There's an Apple Store, which the kids love to visit. I think
Las Vegas Restaurant: Cannery Row Buffet
This past week we had an opportunity that seems to be more rare these days - everyone was home. This means it was both hubby and I, both of the younger kids (Mattie-9 and Courtney-13), and both of the older kids (Wellie-20 and Lil D-18) - all together, no one at work, no one out doing other stuff.
With all of us home, David and I decided to treat them to dinner out. Knowing that we needed to be as frugal as possible, we limited ourselves to a few options. In the end, we decided on trying out
