Grilled Pita Pizzas
If you love homemade pizza, but don't want to heat up your oven during the summer, grilled pita pizzas is your answer. I will show you how easy they are to make, plus give you lots of topping ideas.
Our family loves to have mini parties all through out the year. There are no "official" events -- like birthdays and holidays -- happening in our home this week. However, that doesn't stop us from celebrating the everyday! We decided to have fun with a Grilled Pita Pizzas Party that each family

When I've seen Green Goddess dressing on the grocery store shelves, I've ignored it. I wasn't sure what was in it and I didn't want to know.
Then, on the Home Cooking Memories Facebook page, Robin of Dinner with Friends, gave me a grilled recipe suggestion. The recipe was for a grilled romaine salad with a
Veggie Loaded Pasta Bake
I've heard a lot about how good kale is for you, but other than making kale chips once or twice, I have no experience with it. I spotted this recipe in the January 2012 issue of Better Homes and Garden and I liked that it included kale. It seemed that with the cheese and pasta (very similar to my own macaroni and cheese recipe), this might be a great way of introducing kale to the kids as part of an actual dinner. The question was: would they like it?

La Romanella Calzones
For the past three weeks (at the date of writing this), I have not eaten one thing that was prepared in a home kitchen. Being out of town due to my father's unexpected passing has meant that I've only eaten fast food, casual dining restaurants, free continental breakfasts at a hotel, or {gasp} food from a convenience store. Not all of it was bad, but I was REALLY wanting to get cooking in my own kitchen.
Recently, I was invited to cook up something using products from the La Romanella
Chicken Pot Pie
Chicken pot pie is one of my top favorite comfort foods. In the early years of our marriage, there was no way I would have made it homemade. Seemed so complicated. We did have it at home, but it was almost always a frozen variety. I ordered it in restaurants too. I remember choosing it during our 3rd wedding anniversary date night to Marie Callendar's restaurant.
I've come a long ways from that time and I think my family is quite happy that I have. If I say we are having chicken pot pie for
Gilcrease Orchard – U-Pick Farm in Las Vegas
When you think of U-Pick Farms, you probably don't think of Las Vegas. I know...I didn't think Las Vegas either. Before we moved here, I was checking out farmer's markets and CSA's in Vegas and I stumbled upon the Gilcrease Orchard -- a non-profit, pick-your-own farm.
I've been wanting to visit the orchard ever since we moved to Vegas, but their hours never seemed to match up well with our own schedules. But, in October, they have extended hours due to how many families visit their pumpkin

Ina Garten’s Lentil Vegetable Soup
While making up my menu plan, and in an attempt to use up some of what I have in my pantry, I noticed that I had two bags of lentils. I've had them for a while now, so I figured: use 'em or lose 'em. I knew I wanted to do a soup with them, so I start my search for a new soup recipe to try. I wanted something low in fat and meatless -- not that we don't eat meat, but we are eating less meat lately.
I ended up deciding to make Ina Garten's Lentil Vegetable Soup. It made a HUGE batch. Of
