Seeing a movie in a movie theater has become a rare event for my husband and I.
It didn't always used to be that way.
As a kid, went to the drive-in all the time. As I became a teenager, I started going to the movies more and more. In the early years of our marriage, David worked at a movie theater and we got unlimited free movies. Even after he stopped working there, we would go fairly often.
But in the last several years, our movie theater trips have dwindled.

International Delight Iced Coffee
Do you have an afternoon pick-me-up?
I have one. And it's mighty delicious.
Since a lot of my work at home is done on the computer, I am find that by the afternoon, I'm starting to drag. With David at work, this means I am car-less since we are a one-car family, so I'm not always able to leave and head down to the local coffee shop. My solution: International Delight Iced Coffee. I pour it over ice, and then sip and enjoy right at my desk.
Our Easter Dinner Tabletop
Since Easter will be the biggest holiday dinner for our family since Christmas, my mind started turned turning towards my dining room table. If you remember back in December, I talked about how I didn't have any holiday decorations for our dining room. With the help of Kmart, I did a makeover of our dining room, which turned out fabulous.

My Iced Coffee Gift for a Favorite Food Blogger
Remember how I made homemade marshmallows with Iced Coffee? I was sent new International Delight Iced Coffee to try and I liked it so much that I was inspired to see if it would work in making coffee marshmallows...and it did work!
One of the perks of being chosen to try this new Iced Coffee, is that I was able to share the coffee love with another blogger. I was able to pick a blogger of my choice and they would also be sent three 1/2 gallons of International Delight Iced Coffee.
WinCo Foods Grocery Store coming to Las Vegas!
Yes, I get excited about things like grocery stores opening. And if there was one grocery store I wanted to have open in Las Vegas, it's WinCo Foods.
A couple years ago, while living in Virginia, I was talking to my sister-in-law (who lives where I used to live) on the phone and I asked her where she does most of her grocery shopping at. She said that she usually shopped at Winco. Huh? What's a WinCo? There was no WinCo's in our town before I left and I had never heard of them. She told me a
My New KitchenAid Stand Mixer!
Every time I look at it on my counter top, I can't believe that I actually own one, but it's true...I do. I am the proud owner of a new, shiny red KitchenAid Stand Mixer!
This KitchenAid came to me as a complete surprise from my dad. Now, if you know my dad, you know that he is an extremely frugal person. He's VERY careful about his purchases and not an impulsive buyer at all. This is completely out of the ordinary for him and so unexpected. We were talking on the phone one day and he asked
Christmas Decorating in the Dining Room
We moved into our current house last year and when I did our holiday decorating in 2010, I realized our dining room area (adjoined to our living room) didn't look very festive. Our previous home didn't have a formal dining area, so when we did our usual decorating in this new house, it left very little for decorating this "extra" room.
Last year, we left it without any Christmas decorations. My thinking was that I would pick up a bunch of decorations at clearance sales after Christmas. That
Road Trips, Hot Dogs, Onion Crunch, and Banana Peppers
When our family goes on a road trip and we stop for gas, we often let the kids grab something else to snack on or drink. It's been our long standing tradition and to them, it's always the biggest treat. If you ask Mattie what one of the things he loves most about road trips, he'll say stopping at gas stations and mini marts. No joke.
Recently, we took another road trip and we stopped before leaving at a new-to-us mini mart/gas station. The reason why we chose this particular gas station was
Thrift Store Find: Recipe Plaque (Daily Photo)
This evening, we took a trip over to my favorite thrift store. We went looking for gardening tools (shovel, Hula hoe, etc) and rugs. They didn't have what we were hoping to find, but no worries, I didn't leave empty handed. I found this weird plaque. It's wood on the base and someone got crafty with it by doing some distressing to the edges. The top of it is thick metal with the words "recipes" cut out of it near the bottom of the metal. This piece is screwed into the wood base.
It caught my
